Meet our CEO and co-founder
Leila Hellgren
Leila Hellgren is a Swedish‑French entrepreneur and expert in enterprise performance management, sustainability governance and digital reporting, with more than 20 years of experience designing, modelling and digitizing complex international management and ESG processes. She is the CEO and co‑founder of Cleerit, an innovative SaaS solution recognized by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (JEI label) for its Inclusive Governance Model, which unites strategy, operations, finance and sustainability within a single integrated architecture.
Her career has been driven by a long‑standing focus on strategy execution and organizational performance. Drawing on extensive research, management experience and evidence‑based insights, she has developed methodologies and digital tools that help organizations “connect the dots” — linking goals, activities, resources, KPIs, risks and people to improve execution success. This work led to the creation of Cleerit’s Inclusive Governance Model, which integrates soft and hard data, financial and sustainability performance, and the human and operational realities that determine whether strategies succeed.
Leila has worked hands‑on with organizations across Europe, supporting strategic planning, financial and operational management, risk and internal control, and sustainability reporting. She has led major performance‑management, governance and reporting projects for companies such as Auchan Retail, Alimak, Alstom, Dassault Aviation, EDF, Engie, Feu Vert, Gekås Ullared, Lyreco, New Immo Holding, Optic 2000, SFR, Société Générale, PMU, Tech Data, Tetra Pak, Total and several Swedish public authorities.
Since early 2022, she has also been closely involved in European sustainability reporting, following EFRAG’s standard‑setting work, contributing to public consultations, and developing multilingual, taxonomy‑centric ESRS and VSME templates aligned with the official XBRL taxonomies. As a Friend of EFRAG Sustainability Reporting, she contributes practical insights from implementation work across sectors and jurisdictions. She also initiated Cleerit’s AI‑driven assistant for preparers and auditors, designed to enhance consistency, comparability and reporting quality.
Her expertise spans enterprise performance management, strategy execution, governance and internal control, sustainability reporting, and digital reporting. She provides training to boards, executives and operational teams, and collaborates regularly with consulting firms, market actors and national professional institutes.
Her earlier career includes leadership roles in strategic planning, public affairs and performance management at Renault, Wyeth‑Lederle, Swedish Match and Partena Security, as well as founding and developing an enterprise software company in partnership with IBM (sold in 2016) and an independent consulting firm supporting marketing and communication professionals.
Born and raised in Sweden and based in France for more than 30 years, with additional experience in Switzerland and the United States, Leila brings a multicultural perspective to governance, reporting and enterprise performance management. She holds a Master’s degree in International Economics and Business Administration from Uppsala University and an MBA from HEC Paris.
Her work is driven by the conviction that organizations succeed when they connect the dots — aligning strategy, governance, operations, finance and sustainability through integrated processes and clear, accessible performance data — to build resilience and long‑term value for businesses and organizations across all sectors.
