{"id":732,"date":"2024-01-17T17:00:53","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T16:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cleeritesg.com\/?p=732"},"modified":"2024-01-17T17:28:24","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T16:28:24","slug":"update-on-sector-specific-esrs-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cleeritesg.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/17\/update-on-sector-specific-esrs-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"Update on Sector-specific ESRS Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EFRAG has started working on a program that will lead to the issuance of approximately 40 Sector-specific ESRS Standards<\/p>\n<p>The primary focus will be addressing high-impact sectors first.<\/p>\n<p>Given the importance of financial institutions and their role in sustainable finance, these sectors will also be developed in parallel.<\/p>\n<p>EFRAG will put in consultation in 2024 the general approach to sector ESRS and the ESRS Sector classification approach.<\/p>\n<p>The general idea discussed is that companies will have to apply a sector standard for activities that:<\/p>\n<p>(a) generate revenues above 10 per cent of the revenues of all their activities; or<\/p>\n<p>(b) for activities that are connected with material actual or potential negative impacts.<\/p>\n<p>The application of these requirements may result in companies having to apply more than one sector standard.<\/p>\n<p>During a meeting on January 15, EFRAG discussed a draft list of ESRS sectors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agriculture, Farming and Fishing<\/li>\n<li>Forestry<\/li>\n<li>Construction and Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Power Production and Energy Utilities distribution<\/li>\n<li>Water and Waste Services<\/li>\n<li>Gaming<\/li>\n<li>Recreation and Leisure<\/li>\n<li>Capital Markets<\/li>\n<li>Credit Institutions<\/li>\n<li>Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Health Care and Services<\/li>\n<li>Accommodations<\/li>\n<li>Food and Beverage Services<\/li>\n<li>Construction Materials<\/li>\n<li>Chemical Products<\/li>\n<li>Construction and Furnishing<\/li>\n<li>Defence<\/li>\n<li>Electronics and electrical equipment<\/li>\n<li>Food and Beverages<\/li>\n<li>Machinery and Equipment<\/li>\n<li>Medical Instruments<\/li>\n<li>Metal Processing<\/li>\n<li>Motor Vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Paper and Wood Products<\/li>\n<li>Pharma and Biotechnology<\/li>\n<li>Sporting Equipment and Toys<\/li>\n<li>Textiles, Accessories, Footwear and Jewelleries<\/li>\n<li>Tobacco<\/li>\n<li>Mining, Quarrying and Coal<\/li>\n<li>Oil and Gas<\/li>\n<li>Real Estate and Services<\/li>\n<li>Sales and Trade<\/li>\n<li>Education<\/li>\n<li>Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Professional Services<\/li>\n<li>Information Technology<\/li>\n<li>Media and Communication<\/li>\n<li>Other Transportation<\/li>\n<li>Road Transport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efrag.org\/Meetings\/2311080942079508\/EFRAG-SR-TEG-meeting-15-Janvier-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFRAG<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EFRAG has started working on a program that will lead to the issuance of approximately 40 Sector-specific ESRS Standards The primary focus will be addressing high-impact sectors first.
